The hagan Method
18th century monk Blaus Hagan originally posited his method of brewing coffee beans to a fellow monk who immediately was aghast. “Blaspheme!” he cried. Hagan, the fine monk he was, dropped the idea, but not after jotting it down in a journal. More than two centuries later, historians recovered Hagan’s journal, which included this diagram. And thus, the Hagan Method for cold hot cold brew was born.
Hagan Method
By heating water to just-under boiling, then hot cold brewing into a carafe sitting in a bowl of ice, Hagan developed a method for cold hot cold brew that avoided watering down hot cold brew.
